Classes Defined

ESKRIMA

Eskrima or escrima refers to a class of Filipino martial arts that emphasize weapon-based fighting with the stick, staff or knife. Alternative terms which have entered into common usage include kali and arnis

ESKRIDO / PANGAMOT

A version of Cacoy Doce Pares, is a combination of Eskrima, Aikido and Judo. It features standard eskrima stick techniques mixed with Jujitsu-style locks and throws that utilize the stick. The stickwork shows a strong sword influence, and the sword, knife, and other weapons are also taught. It was founded by Ciriaco 'cacoy' Canete. The art was established in 1951.

DUMOG

Dumog is the term used in Eskrima to refer to wrestling techniques in Filipino wrestling. Buno is the term typically used in Luzon, specifically in the Southern Tagalog provinces as far south as Mindoro, while "Dumog" is the term more widely used in the Visayas and Mindanao.

BOXING

Boxing classes are a combination of circuit training, pad work, bag drills and sparring (which is always supervised).  The classes are designed to accommodate those who are interested in self-defense, fitness or competition.

TAE KWON DO

The primary form of Korean unarmed combat, named during a conference of chung do kwan masters in 1955. It is considered the most popular martial art in the world.
